SOCIAL KAYAK PADDLE
Paddlers of all levels of experience are welcome
8.00 AM
Most Saturdays & Sundays
This is a social paddle group for people with either their own kayak/canoe or those without (we have some for hire) and would like to paddle with others.
Paddlers of all levels of experience are welcome; as most of our paddles are generally suitable for beginners’ unless otherwise stated.
Paddle instruction is also offered for first timers and safety briefs are given before hitting the water.
So grab your kayak, a picnic lunch and come and explore the waterways of the Northern Rivers.
Meet at 8.00 am (NSW Time), to complete paperwork and be issued gear.
Details
- Clarrie Hall Dam is an ideal paddle for beginners or people wanting to build on their paddling skills.
- Located on Doon Doon Creek - a tributary of the South Arm of the Tweed River, some 15 kilometres south-west of Murwillumbah. The dam offers a great paddle with spectacular scenery and views of Mt Warning to the north, in addition to extensive picnic facilities at Crams Farm.
- The launching point is from the small boat ramp at Crams Farm Reserve at the southern end of the dam. From there everyone paddles through an ocean of water lilies and hidden inlets to explore one of the northern rivers best kept secrets.
- On returning you are invited to a bar-b-q for those who wish to hold on for lunch.
- As it is a BYO Barbie, they supply salad, condiments and cooking utensils, you bring what you want to cook and drink.
